A Place for Everything
I’ve been meeting needs again, and this time its for my new phone. Just a little case to keep it clean and easy to grasp when in my handbag. Love it!

"The Look Of Love"
A few days off work and I went fabric shopping, at a fabric store! My normal method of acquiring fabric for projects is to purchase clothing from thrifting environments, anything thats 100% cotton. silk, linen or wool and do reclaimed clothing styling. This day was to be a treat, I would be purchasing the total yardage needed to make a new dress! It is amazing how fabric selection has changed over the years, it was the hardest task to find at retail a quality piece of dress goods, most fabrics are mixed blends. I found a lovely black and white large grid plaid, 100% cotton, and very soft to the touch. The purchase was just three yard, the amount needed to create a wonderfully soft and easy style dress.
So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous:... Psalm 58:11

A Relaxed Look
I’ve had a two-piece fine knit pantsuit for about a month, I thrifted it on an impromptu shopping spree with my husband. Always one to keep a running list of colors and fabric textures in my ever present journal, the extra-large beige knit pantsuit was an okay buy. Later I acquired a soft beige and green short sleeved man’s shirt (extra large) that matched quite nicely. Second generation styling is this lovely easy dress, that’s just my style.

"My new Brown Knit Skirt from a Man's Sweater"
I've been wanting a nice long chocolate brown knit skirt for some time, and I just could not find one. Great brown skirts are hard to come by, so when I saw this extra large men's sweater in the finest knit and just the right deep shade of chocolate brown, I also saw a skirt. There was not much waste, and I got a finished skirt for under $5 and a few hours of enjoyable sewing. Below are just a few of the outfits I've been able to create with my new skirt.
| Sweater has been cleaned and is ready for cutting |
| Initial cuts made for skirt body, sleeves will become the yoke for added length |

"Losing It and Finding It Again"
It’s being voiced around that times are getting harder. For my family it’s always been pretty tight. My husband and I have just never been great wage earners, we are for the most part moderate spenders, so everything has always balanced out. We made do. Twenty-seven years later we’re empty nester’s with the feeling of what do we do now? I’m working an e-commerce business, but sales are slow, and my husband does odd handyman jobs now and then. I believe we are part of the great support system of our society, we save and spend our money. The difference in our spending habits is what sets us apart from the fictitious American consumer the media has created. We actually buy things we need, based on our idea of need, not created needs that ad campaigns come up with. Now what if we went back to a society that consumed resources on the basis of realistic need, and not imaginary fulfillment. I’ve been thinking about this concept and really would like to know what others think.
